HIV/AIDS is a cross cutting issue that affects a lot of children and their development. WICS foundation was based on a number of children who became orphaned due to HIV/AIDS and other maternal deaths and children who could not be breast feed due mother’s HIV positive status in early years of HIV pandemic. Our response was to support the children with nutrition items, encouraged care givers to take the orphaned children for testing and treatment, adherence and reached out to households on preventive, management and adherence. Currently, mothers are encouraged to adhere to treatment and continue breasting feeding to ensure good health and adequate nutrition of the child. The parents and guardians are further advised on the need to undergo testing to ensure timely treatment and management for the children.
